McGregor interested in fighting Anderson Silva

When Conor McGregor wants something, he doesn't rest until he gets it, and this time it's a fight with legendary fighter Anderson Silva.

McGregor will oppose Khabib Nurmagomedov in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 229 headliner fight next Saturday, Oct. 6, however, he already has his sights set on what his next targets will be. Rumors have recently surfaced of bouts that could be on the table for McGregor following his weekend engagement, but there is one that catches the Irishman's eye.

Meanwhile in an interview for Ariel Helwanis's MMA on ESPNMcGregor commented on what his fights could be after winning at UFC 229, and with his usual confidence, he said he would win the fight.

"I'm certainly considering some options," McGregor assured. "The winner of the co-main event (Tony Ferguson vs. Anthony Pettis). And of course, maybe others in boxing. I'm very excited."

Journalist Helwani asked McGregor if he would be interested in a fight against Georges St-Pierre, who has recently made comments about facing the winner of Khabib vs. McGregor and has been seen lately at a weight close to 155 pounds.

Notorious gave an answer that shocked many. "We'll see what happens, but I don't think GSP is next," he alleged. "He really doesn't have anything to offer me personally. I'm not going to close the door on that line. But ... you know what would be a big one? Anderson Silva.''

"I would be interested in a fight against Anderson Silva, I swear to God. Anderson is a legend of the sport, what's the difference between him and Georges? Same damn thing. I'm going to do fights that interest me or have meaning to me," the fighter maintained.

It's clear that McGregor has some leverage with the UFC in choosing what he wants for his future, but for the fans, which would be more interesting? Leave your answer in the comments.
