The number of hours consumed of Boxing globally on the sports streaming platform grew by 98% last year over 2018, by surpassing 507 million hours of content.
In a year in which boxing has been reborn globally, DAZN revealed that on its platform 107 events surpassed one million streams throughout 2019. The heavyweight world title rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Jr. has been the most followed event during the past year, a discipline that also had two other successful evenings.
BOXING GROWS IN DAZN
The sports OTT has announced that the sporting events that have aroused the most interest in the nine markets (Spain, United States, Canada, Japan, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Brazil) that ranked in the top 10 most watched were soccer, thanks to the UEFA Champions League, and pugilism with the aforementioned heavyweight title fight as the fights between Canelo vs. Kovalev and the debut of professional boxers of youtubers KSI and Logan Paul.

On the other hand, DAZN has achieved a record high in the consumption of its programming with 507 million hours of content offered in streaming. Which represents an increase of 98% over the 256 million hours consumed in 2018.
Soccer accounted for 314.6 million hours of consumption, followed by baseball with 38.1 million hours. Motorsports contributed 37.9 million hours; the NFL earned 37.2 million hours and boxing weighed in at 22.6 million hours.
In terms of consumption by device, mobile platforms accounted for 26% of streamings; set-top boxes 23%; smart TV 21%; computers 17% and gaming consoles 13%.
