With this, Spain will once again host a competition of the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC), the governing body of European boxing, something that had not happened since 2004.<\/p>\n<p>Born in 2003, the European Union Championship held its second edition the following year in Madrid and is considered the second most important competition in Europe. It has taken 14 years for it to return to our country, thanks to the good work of the Spanish Boxing Federation (FEB) and the Boxing Federation of Castilla y Le\u00f3n (FCLB).<\/p>\n<p>The President of the FEB, Felipe Mart\u00ednez Mart\u00ednez, was in Rome in April defending Spain's candidacy as host country, so he sees the effort of his management rewarded: \"It is a great joy for Spanish Boxing to organize a great competition after such a long time. There were other countries interested, such as France and some other Eastern countries that are already in the European Union, but they have valued our project more highly. Undoubtedly, a vote of confidence towards our country and our Federation, after a turbulent period\".<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scheduled for November in the famous Millennium Dome<\/strong>The 2018 European Union Championship will become the third major individual Amateur Boxing competition to be held in Spain, after the 2004 edition and the 1971 European Championship. \"However, it should not be seen only as a historical milestone in our sport, but above all as a test bench to try in the future to bring an even more important competition,\" reports Martinez.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, the President of the FCLB, Pedro Retuerto Marqu\u00e9s, does not hide his joy at the choice of Valladolid as the host city: \"Today, in the Elite category there are many countries interested in hosting each competition.
